Anne Hathaway Catwoman The Dark Knight Rises, In the new trailer for the “Dark Knight Rises,” released Monday on iTunes, New Jersey native Anne Hathaway gives Bruce Wayne advice that could have come from an “Occupy Gotham City” speech.
In this latest trailer, Hathaway, playing Catwoman Selina Kyle, tells Wayne at a masquerade ball, according to guardian.co.uk, “You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits you’re all gonna wonder how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.”
Hathaway’s Catwoman may not have been too far off the mark. CinemaBlend.com reported that early rumors said “The Dark Knight Rises” would do some filming at Occupy Wall Street. That didn’t happen, but original casting call in New York wanted extras to play law enforcement “within a city besieged by crime and corruption,” and images from the Occupy Wall Street protests have just that sort of action.
Now unfortunately, we don’t get to see Hathaway in action as Catwoman in this trailer, but photos of her “unforgiving” costume have already surfaced.
CinemaBlend.com also points out one thing about the trailer: it reveals little to fans about the plot.
They say all viewers learn is that “Dark Knight Rises” takes place 8 years after The Dark Knight, and Bane is doing serious damage.
According to Mail Online, Tom Hardy was hand-picked for the role by director Christopher Nolan for the role of Bane. Referring to Bane, Hardy said, “He’s brutal, brutal. Anything from small joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stomping on collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. Anything he can get away with.”
