Amrita University:Amrita University Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham or a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research and teaching university located in India. The university also received a grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council as the new classification system for the next five years. Its five campuses are located in the three southern states of India, Kerala and Kochi Amritapuri in Bangalore and Mysore in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in Ettimadai. The University headquarters are in Ettimadai in a picturesque campus near the foothills of Western Ghats, about twenty km from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. extensive interaction between all the campus is made possible through the satellite network Amrita-ISRO for e-learning.

The university offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in computer science, engineering, business, biotechnology, nanotechnology, Ayurveda, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, social work, journalism, education and basic sciences. The areas of specialization include Medical Informatics, Computational Engineering, Cybersecurity, Research and Clinical Oncology have been designed keeping in mind the Indian National development plans. 13,000 students are enrolled in almost 100 degrees different. Former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on a visit to the campus of the Amrita University found that has an important role to play in transforming our society into a knowledge society through its unique system of value added education. ”

In partnership with national and international organizations, has undertaken research projects to benefit society. For example, a project to investigate the use of wireless sensors in a novel way, is currently underway to help predict disasters in areas prone to landslides. Another project involves designing and manufacturing a bomb of low cost, indigenous to use insulin in diabetic patients in the poorest countries.
