Amitabh Bachchan Kaun Banega CrorepatiAmitabh Bachchan Kaun Banega Crorepati, An equipment operator who earns just 130 a month and has become the first person to win the prize and 1 million in the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” TV quiz.

Sushil Kumar, 27, from the impoverished eastern state of Bihar, collected 50 million rupees on “Kaun Banega Crorepati?” while recording on Tuesday, the program host Amitabh Bachchan revealed in his blog.

“A young man from the interiors of Bihar, earning a meager salary of only 6500 rupees a month, from the humblest of land back, gets to the line of fire and c3acks in the ultimate prize – (50 million rupees) “wrote Bachchan.

“An incredible feat! This is what the common man has to do,” he said, describing the excitement on the set during filming of “unimaginable.”

Bollywood star Bachchan, who began hosting the contest 11 years ago, said the celebrations that followed were “rare and once in a lifetime”.

The show has had winners in previous series, but below jackpot.

“I love reading,” Kumar said in an interview after his victory. “Before winning this amount, I could not buy many books, but now, I’ll make a great library.”

He said he would use part of the award to train for the grueling exams to get a coveted job of public administration.

The Times of India on its website that the episode will air next month.

“Kaun Banega Crorepati?” is one of the television programs most popular in India and inspired the best-selling book “Q and A” by Vikas Swarup, who became the “Slumdog Millionaire” Oscar-winning film.

Both the book and the film a humble tea boy bags first prize in the program to win his childhood sweetheart.
