Amir Khan Boxer

Amir Khan Boxer, It is likely to be named ‘fight of the year’. It had everything – drama, great boxing, knockdowns – but, ultimately, two points deducted from Khan for pushing by referee Joseph Cooper cost him the fight.
The referee’s impact on the fight can not be discounted. Freddie Roach, Khan’s coach, said Cooper “had acted like a judge in there, rather than a referee”.
Khan himself was highly critical of the decisions made by the referee.
“I was up against two people in there,” he said. “He was coming in with his head lower and lower and I was trying to stay away from his head. He was being effective at pressuring. I was the cleaner fighter all night. I’m ready for a rematch, and I’ll take it. This is why boxing hasn’t been here for 20 years, because you get a decision like this.”
Fought at a blistering pace from the outset, Peterson was down twice in a brilliant first round – though only one was counted – and had to come through perilous moments in the third and seventh rounds. Khan was also docked a point in the seventh round and again in the 12th, without a warning.
