American Legion BaseballAmerican Legion Baseball, A fight after a play at the plate has the American Legion baseball teams in Douglasville and Cherry Hill, North Carolina out of a regional baseball tournament in Sumter.

The decision to expel two teams in the Southeast Regional tournament came after consultation with the national organizers of America Legion officials.

Fighting broke out after Cherryville, NC, Post 100 scored two runs in the fourth inning to increase their lead to 4-0 in Douglasville, Georgia, Post 145 on Sunday morning.

When the second runner Cherryville slipped into his house, exchanged words with the recipient of Douglasville, who threw the ball and hit the player from North Carolina in the back from the fight.

It took about three minutes to restore order. Two teams from South Carolina and Florida team left in the tournament.
