American Idol Scandal

American Idol Scandal, Jermaine Jones was booted from American Idol tonight due to a reported criminal past, but we were with the “gentle giant” in more hopeful times prior to the controversy. “This is my dream,” Jones told us about making the Top 13 during an interview last week. “And I think it’s so wonderful because some people die never getting to live their dream and I’m 25 and I’m really living it.”

Jones tweeted an apparent confirmation of his ousting on Tuesday, writing, “Awww I will no longer b on the show.” The tweet has since been redacted.

Jones reportedly gave police a fake name following a run-in with the law on March 5, 2011 as well as another incident in November 2011. TMZ reports that he was later charged for “hindering apprehension and giving false information to avoid self-discovery.”

“Unconventional [American Idol] show tonight,” Ryan Seacrest tweeted on Wednesday. “Yes, we have to let someone go due to info from law enforcement. Addressing in first second of show.”

During tonight’s show, executive producers Ken Warwick and Nigel Lythgoe Jones revealed that Jones has four outstanding warrants, but neglected to reveal this information.
