American Airlines Flight 2232 was moments from takeoff en route to Chicago at 8:25 AM had to return to the gate at 9:15 when a flight attendant reportedly began ranting over the public address system that the flight was going to crash.
The attendant was quoted as saying, “We’re not taking off, we are experiencing technical difficulties and are returning to the gate,” according to passengers. Another attendant reportedly assured the passengers that the flight was, indeed, taking off, but the first attendant was heard to say, “Captain, I am not responsible for crashing this plane.”
