Amanpour Bin Laden

Amanpour Bin Laden, Like a lot of people in the many years that Osama bin Laden at Tora Bora lammed, who had accepted the premise that it was probably hidden inside the Af-Pak country, caving in the interior of some series of caves. So I’ll admit I’m surprised when it was revealed that Pakistan was chillaxing in the suburbs in a huge mansion compound built in 2005, a brisk walk from the Pakistan Military Academy. Heck, according to Bloomberg News, Bin Laden’s bodyguard is kept well stocked with the best facilities in the suburbs:
Osama bin Laden died in a village in Pakistan, not in a cave? Who would have thought that?

Actually, that’s what a U.S. intelligence official that had recently left a senior official told me about where Bin Laden was living in the fall of 2008.

Of all the places that came up in conversation a few days later, when he made an appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” panelists, the actor Alec Baldwin and comedian Gary Shandling, I was ribbing, but I have the information anyway:

“I just spoke with someone very knowledgeable … [who] believes that he is in a village, a nice comfortable town,” he told a somewhat skeptical reaction to Bill Maher and the other guests. He added, a village in Pakistan. There is a cave. “
