Amanda Knox & Life SentenceAmanda Knox & Life Sentence, An Italian prosecutor asked for life imprisonment on Saturday Amanda Knox for the murder of her fellow Briton Meredith Kercher after attacking an independent review found some evidence of DNA used to convict the American students was not reliable.

Seattle native Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were jailed for 26 and 25 years respectively, for murder in 2007 in the university town of Perugia in central Italy.

Knox, 24, and Sollecito, 27, have protested their innocence.

Knox and Sollecito were convicted of Kercher murder in 2009 in what prosecutors alleged was a game of sex for drugs.

A man from Ivory Coast, Rudy Guede, was found guilty of raping and murdering Kercher in a separate trial and is serving a sentence of 16 years.
