All My Children Actress Dies, She won an Emmy in 1973 for her portrayal of Ruth Martin on the ABC drama series. All My Children has long been the actress Mary Fickett died Thursday of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83.
Fickett was an original cast member of the ABC soap opera and played nurse Ruth Martin from 1970 to 1995 and again from 1998 to 2000.
She won an Emmy in 1973 for an episode in which her character expresses doubts about the war in Vietnam.
ABC said in a statement: “We are in the ABC was saddened to learn of the death of one of the members of All My Children of the original cast, Mary Fickett.
By honoring all my children 41 years on ABC, we can not recognize and remember the wonderful description of Mary Ruth venerable Pine Valley. Ruth’s marriage to the chief of staff Dr. Joe Martin provide the basis on which to built the town of Pine Valley. Their marriage was always a stabilizing force that represents the “home” for many. ”
The network will be the September 21 episode, which focuses specifically on the fiction of the Martin family, a Fickett. All My Children episode airs on 23 September.
In addition to All My Children, Fickett also acted in theater, film and television prime time on projects such as Sunrise at Campobello, nurses, morning, the CBS morning show calendar 1960.
He is survived by her daughter and son Kenyon Bronwyn Congdon Congdon, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, says the Los Angeles Times.
