Alex Trebek And Burglar, “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek was injured while chasing a burglar in a San Francisco hotel. Trebek, 71, revealed the dramatic confrontation hosted an hour later the geography test with crutches. He told audience members at the National Geographic World Championship, held at the headquarters of Mountainview, California, technology giant Google, found the hole in the middle of the night.
Alex Trebek explained: “At 2:30 am, chasing a thief in the hallway of my hotel in San Francisco to the ruptured Achilles tendon and then fell on the carpet, bruising other leg in the process.”
Despite his wounds, Trebek insisted he was fine, but says he will have surgery on Friday.
He did not explain exactly how he found the thief, or if the intruder was arrested.
Trebek has hosted the popular game of “Jeopardy” for over 25 years.
The Russian team won the competition ended on Wednesday after answering a question correctly Greenland.
