MAGNITUDE – 7.1
It is a widespread destructive tsunami threat THERE ARE BASED ON HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA.
THE WEST COAST AND TSUNAMI WARNING CENTER WILL ISSUE ALASKA INFORMATION WITH RESPECT TO ANY LOCAL TSUNAMI THREAT coasts near the earthquake epicenter.
THIS BULLETIN WILL BE only issued FOR THIS EVENT UNLESS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
The West Coast / Alaska Tsunami Warning Center ALASKA WILL ISSUE PRODUCTS … BRITISH COLUMBIA … … WASHINGTON … OREGON CALIFORNIA.
Tsunami Warning is canceled for the coastal areas of Unimak Pass, Alaska (80 miles northeast of Dutch Harbor) on Amchitka Pass, Alaska (125 miles W of Adak).
NO destructive tsunami was recorded, and no tsunami danger exists along the coasts of the U.S. west coast states, Alaska and British Columbia. Local authorities can take any course of receiving this message.
At 2:56 am, Alaska Time on September 2, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 occurred 45 miles/72 Km southeast of Amukta Pass, Alaska. (See United States Geological Survey official earthquake parameters.)
The Pacific coastal regions off California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alaska should refer to the messages of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center for information about the event.
This is the last West Coast / Alaska Tsunami Warning Center Tsunami message issued for this event. To repeat, NO tsunami warning, watch or advisory is in effect for the U.S. west coast states, Alaska and British Columbia.
