Al-Qaida Commander Killed, Pakistani militants said Saturday that a senior militant leader linked to al-Qaeda killed in U.S. strike unmanned aircraft in a complex in northwestern Pakistan’s tribal areas along the Afghan border. Ilyas Kashmiri, a Kashmiri guerrilla leader in India, recently appointed member of the shura of Al Qaeda, was one of eight militants were killed when three missiles aimed hiding around midnight Friday in the village of Shawangai, 7 miles north Wana, the main town in South Waziristan.
Abu Hanzl, a spokesman for militants allegedly emailed a scanned handwritten letter in Urdu to the media, which confirms that their leader was killed in the attack drones. He also warned the U.S. reprisals.

A resident of the area, said German dpa that Kashmir had come to the site two days ago. “I was here when the attack occurred and today his funeral was held at the cemetery at 11:30 Ghundai,” said the resident.
A security official said a U.S. drone Friday belonged to the local commander of the group Halimullah Mualvi Nazir attacked the complex.
