After Christmas Sales

After Christmas Sales, Shoppers hit the road for after-Christmas sales and to stand in line to return ill-fitting or misfit gifts today. Traffic was expected to busy today as many had the day off and would spend it at a store.
Stores of all kinds were having sales. National retailers such as Fry’s Electronics and Macy’s opened at 7 a.m. Smaller establishments also hoped to cash in: Meissner Sewing and Vacuum Centers began a clearance sale today, hopeful that people still had money in their pockets. The two Bischoffs’ Medical Supplies outlets in Sacramento and Roseville offered a 25 percent off coupon in the Sunday Bee on all merchandise today.
Over at the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop, the pro shop was offering an almost free lunch. Spend $5 this morning on an item at the pro shop and a customer gets a free lunch at MacKenzie’s, the golf course’s cafe.
The pro shop’s Tom Morton said over the course of the year, customers are able to test clubs at the golf course. Those still-perfectly-good but used clubs are discounted today through Saturday.
In addition, the pro shop has a policy where customers may exchange a club if they don’t like it within 30 days. Many of those clubs are on sale.
“We use this time of year to give a great value to the customer and clean some of those out,” said Morton.
Some drivers that originally cost $299 or $399 new, will be sold in the $125 to $150 range today, he said.
