Affleck Damon Whitey Bulger, Forget what he said last week about Matt Damon Ben Affleck out with John Krasinski Newton home. Because yesterday the “contagion” star said to be working with Cambridge BFF to make “a film of Whitey Bulger.”
In an interview with GQ, Matt confirmed that he will star as the Southie mobster in the Warner Bros.. Ben will direct and Terence Winter, the brilliant mind behind “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Sopranos” is working on a script.
Apparently, Warner Bros. suits are very taken with the Cambridge homeys, GQ reported. And the World Bank recently played to adapt and direct Affleck Maine horrormeister Stephen King “The Stand”.
We reported months ago that Matt and Ben, who won the Oscar in 1998 for his “Good Will Hunting” script, which re-team for “El Comercio”, the real life story of two Yankees pitchers who swapped wives back in ’70. However, Damon told the magazine that has been some legal problems.
“That could happen at some point,” Matt said, adding that the film would come first Whitey.
“There are a couple of films in competition, and I think that has been announced yet that we’re doing,” said Matt. “But the earlier announced better, just because everybody back off lucky. I am very excited about it.”
There are more than a couple of movies of the Boston underworld. First, there is one of “The Departed” producer Graham King, who has acquired the rights of the followers of John Martorano Whitey. (Herald columnist Howie Carr and WRKO yakko wrote the book version Martorano wire, “Hitman”). There is also the adaptation of Brian Oliver of “Black Mass,” a boring book Broadsheet Bulger by Dick Lehr journalists and Gerard O’Neill. Peter Facinelli and “Twilight” fame has acquired the know-all memoirs of Eddie MacKenzie, who wrote about his life of crime to enter local Phyllis Karas. Finally, Jay Giannone own Southie is shopping around a Hollywood script he co-wrote based on “Brutal: The Untold Story of my life inside Whitey Bulger’s Irish Mob” for the first weeks of the gangster Lt. Kevin.
It is unclear how Terrence Winter saga script local boys “Whitey.
“If it is a linear biography, we will do in a period of time,” said Matt. “But it’s always a question of what part of the story I tell you, and biographies are always a bit cumbersome. Thus we find another way? We’re still figuring out.”
Last week, Matt confirmed that make his directorial debut next year with an untitled film, which brought “The Office” John Krasinski piece, the husband of Damon “Adjustment Bureau” co-star Emily Blunt.
