Adele Flips Bird, After about 40 seconds speaking, Adele had her Brit Award speech cut off by host James Corden. Her response? The middle finger. Soulful songstress Adele has defended flipping the bird at the Brit Awards, saying it went out “to the suits” behind the event.

The 23-year-old artist was making her acceptance speech after winning one of her two awards (album of the year and best British female solo artist), when the host tried to cut her off, the Daily Mail reports.

“I’m so proud to be flying the British flag for all of you,” she told the audience, before the host, James Corden, met by boos from the crowd, appeared on stage to introduce Blur and said: “I’m so sorry, can I just cut off?”

Adele replied: “Are you about to cut me off? Can I just say then, goodbye and I’ll see you next time round.”

She then flipped the middle finger in a show of frustration.

The singer, who earlier performed a rendition of Rolling In The Deep, said afterwards it was directed at “the suits”.

“I was about to thank the British public for their support. They cut me off, sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me,” she reportedly said.

“I got cut off during my speech and flung the middle finger. But that finger was to the suits at the Brit Awards, not to my fans.”

OK! magazine also reported that the star was wearing an engagement ring on the night.
