Aaron Brooks, By acquiring Flynn, the Rockets would send Aaron Brooks packing disorder. On the reverse, Brooks is ideal for the Timberwolves, and he would probably start his first game in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. He is averaging 11.6 points per game in minutes per game for the Rockets this season, but shot a terrible 35 percent on the field. Flynn morale would be great for the Rockets; his character is much larger than that of Brooks. In turn, Brooks would be happy despite playing for a team worse because of his playing time increases.
(AP) – The Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks sent to Phoenix and forward Shane Battier in Memphis in separate agreements Thursday that guard Goran Dragic to center Hasheem Thabeet and Houston, according to a person familiar with the specific trades. The Rockets also get first-round pick two teams and rookie guard vessel Ish Smith to the Grizzlies. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Rockets have not officially announced the trades. Houston is -31, 11th in the Western Conference. The General Manager Daryl Morey said in recent weeks that virtually every player on the list was at stake for the main trades of the deadline on Thursday. Battier and Brooks have contracts expiring after this season, the products coveted for teams looking to create salary cap space. But in acquiring 7-foot Thabeet-3 and Dragic, the Rockets split with two of the most popular players of the team among fans. Brooks was a first-round pick by the Rockets in 2007 and has excelled in the playoffs of 2008-09. The 6-low average of .8 points and 3.4 assists, and Houston has failed a second round upset of the Lakers in Los Angeles. He was honored as most improved player in the NBA in -10, but a sprained ankle has limited his production earlier this season and he found himself in a reserve, backup Kyle Lowry.
