2k Game Kate Upton, With major leaguers about to report for spring training, the buzz is heating up for the competing baseball video games, MLB 2K12 and MLB 12 The Show, both due March 6.
2K Sports enlisted Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover model Kate Upton as part of its MLB 2K12 Perfect Club promotion (throw a perfect game in the game and win $1 million).
Views of the video, in which she tutors Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce, Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price and L.A. Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson on how to throw a circle change in the game, have been brisk, thanks to the Twitter conversation among Upton and the players.
Late Wednesday, Upton tweeted: “I teach @JustinVerlander @DAVIDprice14 @str8edgeracer & @JayABruce a thing or two about MLB2K12. Such good times.”
This morning, Price tweeted that: “Kate Upton mentions me and I wake up with a millions mentions…thanks @KateUpton lol.”
For its part, Sony is giving viewers a sneak peek at how the currently-under-construction Marlins Park (here’s a link to the live webcam) will look in the game, which is coming for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita handheld game system. (Game Hunters got a look at the Vita version earlier this week and it looks great. Stay tuned for more Vita and MLB 12 The Show coverage.)
