220 Pound Gold Coin, A gold coin that weighs a ton (1,000 kilograms, or ounces 35273.92) was coined in Australia.

The currency was created in the Perth Mint has a kangaroo jumping from one side and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the other.

The coin is 80 centimeters (31.4 inches) wide and 12 centimeters (4.7 inches) deep, according to an article on the website of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The previous largest coin weighed 100 kilograms, or about 220 pounds.

Gold futures trading to 1,740 an ounce and measures recently adopted in New York, putting the value of gold and currency in more than 60 million.
