2012 Nissan Altima, There are a number of hybrid cars on the road today and perhaps the least known of them all comes from Nissan Altima Hybrid with. The Altima hybrid was sold only in a few markets in the United States and has thrown for model year 2012. However, the hybrid model is expected to return in accordance with GreenCarReports.
One bit of evidence pointing to the Altima Hybrid reinforced by a return is the opening of a new Nissan Xtronic CVT transmission and a new hybrid system that is designed for front-wheel drive vehicles. The only vehicle in the Nissan family with a hybrid powertrain developed by Nissan’s rear wheel drive Infiniti M35h.
The Altima Hybrid utilizes a suspended version of the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system found in older Camry and hybrid Prius.
The new transmission and a hybrid system may be used in almost every engine in the Nissan line four-cylinder covering V6 engines. The hybrid system has a single electric motor between the engine and the CVT to help reduce energy consumption and hybrid EV mode only for a short time. Nissan’s hybrid system uses a lithium ion battery compact.
AutoWeek reports that the new CVT transmission should be able to improve fuel economy by 10% only compared to the higher transmission by reducing internal friction. The base engine in the hybrid powertrain is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with a compressor. The compressor allows the engine offers similar power comparable to a V6 engine.
The new transmission is expected to debut next year in the fifth-generation Altima.
