2011 Tony Award Winners

2011 Tony Award Winners, Stars of the 2011 Tony Awards went to the Beacon Theater on Sunday, including actor of 21-year-old Daniel Radcliffe. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying cast member performed the song “Brotherhood of Man,” and then changed to more formal clothing to present two awards. Sutton Foster Radcliffe presented with the Outstanding Performance by a leading lady in a musical prize and Frances McDormand took home the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a play.
Catherine Zeta-Jones was also at the ceremony for two awards. Zeta-Jones presented Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play, and Best Actor in a Leading Role in a musical. This was the actress first public appearance since announcing her struggle with bipolar disorder in April.
Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the event, has received mostly positive reviews by critics.
“Neil Patrick Harris shows a great evil genius in a loose but holding old-fashioned theater liberally sprinkled with stars from television to keep audiences interested power,” wrote the critic Robert Lloyd in the Los Angeles Times.
Among the nights big winners were the Book of Mormon and the workhorse. It was a great night for the duo that created South Park Mormon. The work won nine awards, including Best Musical. The British play warhorse, won five awards including best film and best director.
