2011 Masters Results, Tied at number 15 is probably not the result of 2011 Masters Rory McIlroy referred to himself after leading the first three rounds of the tournament, and from the fourth four feeds in front of the field. But after shooting an 80 (for 8 years and older) Sunday at the Masters, where the 21-year-old finished in one of the Masters epic mergers of all time.

And the crisis did not wait long to start. McIlroy bogeyed his first hole after missing a par putt from three feet. From there, he saved three pairs before another bogey in five years. However, in turn, was only one-over round and still holding his head. It was the back 9, where things really unravel.

In hole 10, lost the lead for good, posting a triple bogey. The bogey at 11. After a four-putt for double bogey on 12. And that was the end of 2011 McIlroy hopes for Masters. He spoke of the crisis after the tournament:

“I hang on pretty well the first nine holes,” said McIlroy. “I was leading the tournament going into the final nine holes. I just hit a poor tee shot on 10 and I just kind of unraveled from there and [I] could not recover.
“I am very disappointed by the minute, and I’m sure it will be for the next few days, but get over it. I’ll have many more possibilities. I know. It’s very disappointing what happened today. We hope it will build a little character in me, too. “
