2011 Kentucky Derby

2011 Kentucky Derby, The Kentucky Derby horse race held annually in Louisville, Kentucky at Churchill Downs will be held this year on May . The race is a Grade I race in the game designed for thoroughbred horses of three years in a course that is one and a quarter of a mile long. The race has become famously known as “The Race for the Roses” for the blanket of roses placed on the winning horse.
The Kentucky Derby is the first race of the Triple Crown of horse racing. The Preakness and Belmont Stakes follow. To win the Triple Crown, the horse has to win all three.
The field for the 2011 Kentucky Derby has not been established so far, but given the results we have seen from the potential field, which promises to be one of the most irritating race wide open in recent history. At present, there really is no prohibitive favorite, no overwhelming pick as the best of the three years in the field.
Taking into account that the horses will come as the favorites before the race? Who will be the handicap for selection to take home the first third of the Triple Crown?
The candidate remains popular in the early Uncle Mo, who won three years in this crop. Uncle Mo was blasting its way to becoming the prohibitive favorite, but incredibly disappointing performance at Aqueduct on April 11, helped end that. He remains the most promising horse in the field, but if you lose this badly in the stretch in the aqueduct, it is difficult to pick him up as the favorite in the Derby longer.
