2011 Ford Explorer, Ford unveiled its redesigned Explorer SUV this morning at Herald Square in New York. The new vehicle, which borrows design cues from the former unit of Ford Land Rover, represents the biggest change by far the Ford Focus to your family hauler bread with butter and sales superstar once.
Company officials say the new Explorer reflects the philosophy of CEO, Alan Mulally, to develop a wider range of vehicles that can be tailored closely to what customers want. Somehow the Explorer also aims to attract a wider audience than ever before.
In early 1990 the then brand-new Explorer defines the category of mid-size SUV. His only real competition came when the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevrolet Blazer S-10, two vehicles carrying men credentials truck in sight. The Explorer also had a robust outdoor activities, but was gentle and kind as to attract a wide range of baby-boomers who wanted at least to seek adventure, but never strayed from the road.
The new vehicle gives an ever expanding network. You can still tow a trailer of 5,000 pounds, but their looks and their foundations are more car mechanics – designed for a smooth and quiet. The standard engine is 290 horsepower V6. but instead of a more powerful optional V8, Ford is offering the truck with a 237-horsepower four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that is supposed to give V6 performance with fuel economy 30% better. The actual announcement makes history: The smaller engine will cost more than bigger, more powerful. Ford has not disclosed the price for the motor vehicle or optional.
