2011 College World Series, Texas reaches CWS with win over Arizona, San Marcos Payton had a two-out RBI single to give Texas the lead in the bottom of the sixth, and scored on a throwing error to help the Longhorns defeat Arizona State 4-2 on Sunday to win the Austin Super Regional and advance to their 34th College World Series record.
South Carolina 8, Connecticut 2 run home • Christian Walker in the eighth inning broke a tie with two and defending champion Gameccks earned a spot in the College World Series, sweeping Connecticut at the Super Regional at Columbia.
Calle Florida 23, Texas A & 9 M • Stuart Tapley homered twice and drove in five runs, Justin Gonzalez hit a three-run homer and six RBIs and Florida State routed Texas A & M to force a third game of the Tallahassee Super Regional.
UC Irvine 6, Virginia 4 • Jordan Leyland two-run double to center with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the initiative and UC Irvine Anteaters defeated top-seeded Virginia to force a third game Charlottesville Super Regional.
8 Florida, Mississippi St. 6 • Preston Tucker hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to put you ahead of Florida and the Gators defeated Mississippi State in the deciding game third in a series of Gainesville Super Regional to advance to the College World Series.
