2011 Bet Awards, The sixth year of BET Hip-Hop Awards, which was recorded in early October, they finally delivered on the evening of Tuesday, October 11. During the broadcast, it is revealed that Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj were among the lucky artists who collected multiple trophies.
Windy, with Weezy and Busta Rhymes collaboration on the subject called “Look at Me Now” won Best Hip-Hop Video Award, perfect combination of Reese, People Champ Award and Verizon. In addition, Busta rap verses on the track were named Sweet 16: Best Featured Verso.
Along with helping to win the prize Breezy, Weezy also won two coveted awards yours. The “6 ’7′” rapper grabbed Best Live Performer and songwriter of the year. Defeated Busta, Cee-Lo Green, Jay-Z and Kanye West in the first, and pushed aside Jigga, Kanye, Rick Ross and Minaj in the second.
Despite losing Weezy Lyricist of the Year, Minaj managed to get double gongs. The Young Money femcee brought home MVP of the Year Award and the Made-You-Look. She took revenge beating Weezy in both categories. She also won over Rozay, Kanye, and Wiz Khalifa Jiggaman.
Give up hope of bringing home Made-You-Look Award, Khalifa still lucky to win two congratulations. The rapper, who is running for New Artist of the Year at the 2011 American Music Awards, went home Rookie of the Year and Track of the Year scored his only claim to fame “Black and yellow.”
Kanye and Jigga did not go home empty handed too. Although repeatedly outside the throne even grabbed a coveted award each. Kanye won CD of the Year, thanks to “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” Meanwhile, the husband of Hustler Beyonce Knowles took the title of the year.
2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards was hosted by comedian Mike Epps. The event featured performances and appearances by stars as big as Swizz Beatz, TI, Lupe Fiasco, Erykah Badu and Eminem. Especially honored that night was LL Cool J, who was greeted with “I Am Hip-Hop” icon award.
