2010 Bowl Projections
November 28, 2010 by staff
2010 Bowl Projections, With British Columbia 17-13 victory over Virginia, the Eagles are bowled eligible for the twelfth consecutive season. British Columbia became bowl eligible and Clemson and Georgia Tech this weekend, so there are now nine teams bowl eligible for ACC-eight bowl tie-ins. Math does not quite add up, and at the end of the day, you and I know the team will be out of the ACC bowl shuffle, left to fend for everything he can bowl waste find.
Assume then that the Eagles will be shipped to San Francisco to play a WAC opponent Sunday, January 9 to 18 hours, the night before the BCS National Championship game in Arizona. The San Francisco against hunger Kraft (nee nee Emerald Diamond Walnut) Bowl is now a hot spot for the ACC if the Pac-10 or WAC – the two conferences that have tie-ins in the bowl this year – gift area’t enough bowl eligible teams.
But if the Pac-10 does not fill their allocation of bowl teams this year? If they do, in British Columbia will be in a position similar to NC State two years ago, having to wait until a conference is not fulfilling its responsibilities and finds a bowl bowl Pizza in Birmingham Alabama to play in
Here is an overview of the current Pac-10 rankings:
Oregon * 10-0 (7-0)
* Stanford 10-1 (7-1)
Oregon State 5-5 (4-3)
* Arizona 7-3 (4-3)
X USC 7-4 (4-4)
Washington 4-6 (3-4)
California 5-6 (3-5)
X Arizona State 4-6 (2-4)
UCLA 4-6 (2-5)
The state x 1-7 (2-9)
Three of the Pac-10 teams of 10 are already bowl eligible – Oregon, Stanford and Arizona – all USC (sanctions), the State of Arizona (two cupcakes many) and Washington (general suckage ) are now bowl eligible. That leaves four teams fighting for the last three bowl slots for the Pac-10.
If Oregon wins its last two games against Arizona and Oregon State is all but assured a spot in the BCS National Championship this year, paving the way for Stanford to go to the Rose Bowl and release a another location for the bowl Pac-10. Oregon State has a brutal final stretch of two games against Stanford and Oregon, and without a win in their last two games, would also become bowl eligible.
Washington needs to win both their last two games on the road against Cal and Washington State, while Cal is playing for his life with a bowl final game – against Washington. One Washington / Cal will become bowl eligible with the game this weekend to serve as a bowl elimination game. UCLA, like Washington, needs wins in their last two games (at Arizona State, USC) to become bowl eligible.
It’s like, even if Oregon goes off in one of their last two games, the Pac-10 does not fill their allotted six bowl slots this season, all but ensuring British Columbia another trip Cross Country in San Francisco.
Here is an overview of my current projections Pac-10 bowl:
BCS National Championship Thurs: Oregon
Rose Bowl: Stanford
Sun: No team
Las Vegas: No team
Kraft against hunger: No team
Even in the apocalyptic scenario – a loss of Oregon at Oregon State in the Civil War drops Ducks image BCS National Championship Game – it becomes difficult for the Pac-10 bowl slots to fill three used.
Tell Oregon State won their last two games, beating Oregon on the photo championship game and become bowl eligible in the process. Add the winner of Washington / Cal in the ranks of bowl eligible if it can not be one of those teams. And to think UCLA wins their last two games on Arizona State and USC to get to 6-6 and bowl-eligible. Then the bowl projections Pac-10 looks like this:
Rose Bowl: Oregon
Las Vegas: California
Kraft fight against hunger: UCLA
It is the only scenario in which the Pac-10 would be the field of six teams to bowl six bowls, sending the Eagles the country scrounging for a place in one of sport’s 35 bowls. The odds, however, seem remote, like British Columbia would need all these things happen over the last two weeks of the season, losing to Oregon (not looking likely), Oregon State to down two ranked teams in two weeks, Cal beat Washington and UCLA to win. Imagine what parlay pays.
It seems that British Columbia is all but locked in the Kraft Hunger Bowl cons, making it the third time in the past eight seasons, the Eagles will travel cross-country to play in the bowl of San Francisco. .. Against their third conference opponent different (Mountain West and Pac-10 and WAC) in a bowl that had three different names in British Columbia has played there (Diamond Walnut and Emerald Kraft and cons hunger).
Here is an overview of my current bowl projections ACC:
Orange: Virginia Tech
Peach: Florida State
Champs Sports: Miami
Sun N. C. State
Meineke Car Care: North Carolina
Music City: Clemson
Independence: Georgia Tech
Kraft fight against hunger: Boston College
