1989 San Francisco Earthquake, Two earthquakes shook the San Francisco Bay on Thursday. The U.S. Geological Survey says an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 struck at 8:16 pm, about two miles east of Berkeley.
Thursday night the earthquake occurs after an earthquake measuring 4.0 struck the same area about six hours earlier.
Berkeley Police say they have no reports of damage or injury to any earthquake.
Thursday tremors arrive almost 22 years since the day after the Loma Prieta earthquake hit the Bay Area during the 1989 World Series.
The 6.9 magnitude quake killed 63 people, injured nearly 3,800 and caused up to 10 billion and damages.
