158.723, The five factories produced 158,723 cars national units in 2010. Although most cars manufactured in Portugal as they target other countries, consumption of the domestic market continues to grow. Of the 158,723 vehicles that rolled off the production lines of factories in Portugal last year, 4,132 were in the market. A number representing a growth of 32.1% over 2009, according to the Automobile Association of Portugal (ACAP), but still only 2.6% of national production.
In 2010, international markets have been target of 97.4% of vehicles produced by the five national car factories: Autoeuropa Cirtroën Peugeot, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe, Toyota Caetano and VN cars.
The five units in Portugal have very significant growth rates between January and December 2010.
