110-year-old Man Marries

110-year-old Man Marries, The common belief is that the 2011 wedding of the year will be the nuptials of Great Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton. Sure, if you like fanfare, royal splendor and a global audience of millions.
But William, 28, and Kate, 28, are just kids, with only 56 years total experience on earth. What do they know about celebrating a wedding day? I submit two other couples–with more than twice the miles put on–as candidates for the biggest-(if-not-slowest)-walk-down-the-aisle:
1. Play boy founder Hugh Hefner, 84, and Crystal Harris, 24. Combined age: 108; and,
2. Ahmad Mohamad Isa, 110, and Sanah Ahmad, 82. Combined age: 192.
The Hefner-Harris engagement made headlines around Christmas, when the twice-before-married octogenarian proposed to the former Play boy Playmate from San Diego. Much was made of Hefner’s advanced age, not to mention the couple’s age difference.
You may not have heard as much about Sanah finding Ahmad, who mentioned in the Utusan Malaysia newspaper that he was ready to find his sixth bride. Sanah, a widow for 30 years, read the article, and sent word that she was willing, able and still breathing.
Ahmad told the newspaper: “It is lonely to live alone and I am afraid to sleep alone.”
From Ahmad’s lips to Hefner’s ears.
Ahmad clearly showed his age when he was quoted as saying: “It doesn’t matter who she is, as long as she can cook for me.”
But substitute the word “cook” for something Hefner is more accustomed to having his harem care for, and you can further see the kindred spirit between the two elder grooms-to-be.
Somebody needs to hook up these two couples for a dynamite double wedding, and/or a happily-ever-after series of Netflix double dates, perhaps here in San Diego. Naturally, they’ve got to get together at the Lawrence Welk Resort and watch The Bucket List. In a cozy, warm suite with soft blankets. And the TV volume turned way up high.
